With everyone shuttered indoors, joggers had a big moment last year.
And the momentum hasn’t let up.
While they were popular before, now basically everyone has at least one pair.
And once you try them out, it’s hard to want to wear anything less comfortable.
In fact, why would you? Just get more joggers.
After spending hours researching and trying many brands for myself, I’ve put together a list of the six best joggers for men. Let’s kick this thing off.
Skip Ahead
How Did I Come Up With My List?
After roughly five hours of research (did someone say Reddit?) I picked up ten of the most popular joggers on the market.
Not to mention that my job here is to research the best brands pretty much all day.
You’ll notice that there are only six entries on my list (and not all ten I bought). I’m not going to spend your time dragging certain brands through the mud. Instead, I’m just shouting out the brands who make joggers I would buy again.
I also broke them down into categories, because you might be looking for an athletic jogger while the next guy wants something he can look good wearing while binging Netflix.
No matter what type of jogger you’re looking for, this list has the best option for you.
The 6 Best Men’s Joggers in 2023
Best Overall: Public Rec ADED Jogger
What I Like
I’ve had good experiences with Public Rec in the past. I loved the comfort of their All Day Every Day Pant, so I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to try their jogger version.
It didn’t disappoint.
The quality of the materials and construction of these pants make for a luxury experience. You can tell from 100 yards away that these aren’t your regular casual sweatpants.
With all joggers, you have to be careful with what you choose or you’ll look sloppy. With the ADED jogger, you won’t need to worry about that. They fit well and the taper is just right.
The cuffed hem is a nice, subtle touch. In our opinion, the full elastic scrunchy at the bottom of some joggers looks a little “fourth-grade,” but the cuffed hem on the ADED keeps a clean, slim profile.
Two zippered pockets add security so there’s no risk in keys or a wallet falling out.
What I Don’t Like
To be honest, there isn’t much I dislike about these classic joggers. The pockets bunched up a little after a full day walking around town, but a quick adjustment made for an easy fix.
What Other Reviewers Say
As of this writing, the ADED jogger has 42 reviews with an average of five out of five stars.
That’s not a typo. Perfect scores across the board. If they were bowlers, Public Rec would have a perfect 300 game going. If they played golf, they’d be on their way to an 18 round. If they…you get the picture.
Many reviews mentioned that these looked great on a variety of body types. Guys ranging from 5’7” to 6’4” loved the look and fit.
The Verdict
If you’re going to get joggers, choose quality. Public Rec uses great material and minimalist design so you can look comfortable and put together at the same time.
The zippered pockets make these a natural choice for Sunday afternoon strolls through the city. These are perfect for guys who want a sporty look and don’t want to look like slobs. If you’re ready to step up your casual game, check out the Public Rec ADED Jogger.
If you’re going to get joggers, choose quality. The minimalist slim fit design on these joggers hits an excellent balance between comfort and performance.
Best for the Gym: Vuori Sunday Performance Jogger
What I Like
Vuori has a history of quality clothing. I put the Sunday Performance Jogger on the list because it’s my top workout jogger, even when you compare Vuori against other fitness staples like LuluLemon.
Made with breathable performance fabric and an elastic waistband, these have a smooth “sliding” feel to them, which helps mobility for any HIIT workout you’re jumping into. That said, they’re still great for working out and lounging on the couch while still looking put together.
What I Don’t Like
These have a lot taper below the knee—while this isn’t necessarily bad, if you like a little extra fabric around the ankle, you’ll want the LuluLemon ABC or Public Rec Stadium.
What Other Reviewers Say
Over 150 reviews give these a 4.8 out of 5 rating. Pretty popular, to say the least. We’ve had nothing but good experiences with Vuori, so it’s no surprise that they’re getting love for their sweats.
The Verdict
The Sunday Performance Jogger from Vuori is a workout workhorse. The fabric is lightweight, breathable, and there’s plenty of places to securely store your keys, wallet, etc. There’s a lot of taper in these joggers below the knee—I like it because it keeps my pants secure in place when I’m doing box jumps or doing HIIT cycles, but you may prefer more fabric around the ankles.
If you're looking for a performance-based pair of joggers, Vuori has you covered. This fabric is super lightweight and breathable, and the waist band and taper below the knee help keep them secure, even during your most intense HIIT circuit.
Best for Tall Guys: LuluLemon ABC Jogger
What I Like
Premium materials make for a clean look. I like LuluLemon’s ABC Jogger’s deep square front pockets. These are thinner through the thigh so they work well for the skinny guys.
Apparently, ABC stands for Anti-Ball Crushing. While I couldn’t find anything on the LuluLemon site to confirm that, I can confirm that I love my balls completely un-crushed.
There’s a zipper on the back pocket which helps keep your wallet secure, which is necessary when it comes to stretchy materials. Speaking of stretch, the ABC jogger is made with Warpstreme—a super-stretchy material that will hold up to even the most extreme activities.
Lulu offers the ABC in “Tall” (with a 34 inch inseam). There aren’t many other premium joggers that can get that kind of height.
Because of their versatility, the ABCs topped our list of the Best Lululemon Joggers for Men.
What I Don’t Like
I picked up the ABC Joggers in a size L (same for the other joggers on this list). Of all the pants I tried, the waist was the slimmest at 31-33″.
Other size Ls were more in the 32-34″ range. While I like the fit of the ABC Joggers, if you’re waist is on the larger end of that spectrum, you may want to size up.
What Other Reviewers Say
Reviews for the LuluLemon ABC are generally positive, with most reviewers giving a perfect five out of five score. A lot of guys like the versatility of the ABC—they’re the dressiest joggers on my list.
A few reviewers mentioned they didn’t like the uncovered zipper on the back pocket. I must agree that the finishes on the zippers for both Public Rec and Vuori are nicer, but I also didn’t have any issue with the LuluLemon zipper.
The Verdict
The ABC Jogger is a great look for guys over six feet (or 180cm). And if you’re up above 6’4″, definitely check out their “Tall” offering—that’s where you can find the 34″ inseam so your ankles aren’t exposed to the wind.
These technical looking joggers are lightweight and comfortable, and the longer inseams make them a fantastic option for guys who are sick of hearing "hows the weather up there?"
Best Budget: Southpole Basic Joggers
What I Like
These are the top-rated joggers on Amazon. They’re inexpensive and perfect for working out, plus Southpole offers a huge range of colors. The heavyweight fleece Southpole Basic Joggers are super simple—just combed polyester with a little elastic in the waist and at the ankles.
I like the fit of these joggers, and the fat drawstring is pretty cool. The combed polyester is extremely soft, though there are a few downsides that I’ll mention below.
But if you want an inexpensive pair of joggers that look good (especially for lounging on the couch), these Basic Joggers from Southpole are winners.
What I Don’t Like
Because they’re made out of combed polyester, they’re not very breathable. They make for excellent winter joggers, but if you’re walking around in summer, things can get… swampy.
The fabric also pills around the crotch, which isn’t very noticeable, but the quality here doesn’t hold up against the other joggers on this list.
What Other Reviewers Say
With over 15,000 reviews as of this writing and an average of 4.4 out of 5 stars, it seems like these pants are worth the money.
It’s funny, both negative and positive reviews say the same thing: you get what you pay for.
On the one hand, you’re getting a basic, comfortable pair of pants on the cheap. You can take them to the court to shoot hoops, do chores around the house, or do your daily workout in them. Just don’t be surprised if they wear out a little quicker than your other pants.
The Verdict
If you’re chasing an inexpensive, beat-em-up pair of joggers that look good on or off the couch, you can’t go wrong with the Southpole Basic Jogger.
The budget hitters. Perfect for getting down and dirty with, I recommend these if you’re looking for comfortable joggers to hit the gym with.
Best Sweatpant Joggers: Mack Weldon Ace Sweatpant
What I Like
The terry cloth on this pair of sweatpants is super soft and wicks moisture well. I love the two-inch waist band, and they’re the only sweatpants I recommend wearing in public. There are zippers for added security, but they’re never. a nuisance. Plus, the Ace comes in a wide variety of cool colors.
What I Don’t Like
The Ace has a half-cuff at the ankle, so they’re a little more like sweatpants than they are true joggers. That said, they’re still quite tapered and don’t leave a bunch of fabric flopping around the ankle.
What Other Reviewers Say
The Ace sweats boast a 4.3 out of 5 on 895 reviews (as of writing). People say they’re like “dress sweats,” which I got a kick out of. Besides a few reviewers that thought they were on the short side, most people love the fit.
The Verdict
The Ace is a great choice if you want a little more structure than your traditional sweats. With the added zipper, these are great for short jaunts and comfortable airline travel.
If you've never heard the term "dress sweats," you're not alone. The Mack Weldon Ace is as close as you can get. These are super comfortable, but they're also stylish enough that you can wear them out and your loved ones won't stage an intervention for you.
Best Lightweight: Rhone Bolinas Beach Jogger
What I Like
The Bolinas Beach Jogger from Rhone has a little more room through the thighs and calf than the other options on this list. Despite the extra fabric, it’s one of the most lightweight joggers out there.
Made with 95% lightweight cotton and 5% elastane (for basically unlimited amount of stretch), the Bolinas is an excellent choice if you’re looking for something worthy of an excellent Netflix binge.
But true to their name, these joggers also complement any beach outfit, and I can’t wait to get a bonfire going wearing these pants.
What I Don’t Like
These are built for guys with larger thighs. If you have skinny thighs, you might be better suited to Public Rec’s ADED Joggers.
What Other Reviewers Say
Rhone has been building their reputation for years and they’re starting to build a loyal fan base. The Bolinas Joggers racked up over 150 reviews and average a 4.6 out of 5 stars.
Several reviewers mention the responsive and helpful customer service, so that’s always a big plus in our book.
The Verdict
The Rhone Bolinas Beach Jogger is a go-to for a Saturday night bonfire at the beach and lounging on the couch afterward all Sunday. Because they’re mainly made from lightweight cotton, they look relaxed and feel incredible.
Made with lightweight cotton with added stretch, these joggers have more room through the thighs and calfs, making them a comfortable and stylish option for a day on the couch or a bonfire night at the beach.
What Are Joggers?
Joggers first became popular in the sneaker community. The tapered bottom leaves plenty of room to show off a killer pair of shoes. While jeans can scuff a pair of shoes or dye them indigo, joggers are a different story.
It didn’t take long for the style to become mainstream. The pants were popular in Europe long before they came stateside, but now that they’ve arrived, they’re everywhere.
High school kids wear them as they ride those rented electric scooters. College guys wear them to play pick-up basketball. At breweries across the country, young dads wear them—baby in one arm and a beer in the other.
There are many different types of joggers, but I recommend you stick with styles designed for performance and comfort. Denim joggers? Heck no. They look like toddler pants.
One thing’s clear—there’s a way to wear joggers, and there are a few key things to avoid.
3 Things You Should Consider When Buying Joggers
1. For Style or For Comfort?
Be honest with yourself. Do you really just want to wear sweatpants? Or is it a style choice?
If you’re looking to buy a pair of joggers purely for comfort, you can choose any style.
But if you want to keep your stylish edge, you have to put a little more thought into what you buy.
Not all joggers are created equal. A lot of companies take short cuts with their materials and designs. Pick the wrong pair, and you’re wearing glorified sweats. If the fabric is thin or low-quality, it shows. But choose wisely and you’ve got a super-casual pant that looks great.
2. What’s Your Age?
For high school kids, low-quality is fine. You’re going to grow out of it anyway. And the same thing goes for college guys—why go over the top if you’re just going to drop a midnight burrito on your pants?
Once you’re out of college you have no excuses. It’s time to start dressing like a man.
That means you need to find a great pair of joggers made with top-quality materials. Otherwise, you run the risk of looking like a grown boy.
3. What Are You Wearing on Top?
Hoodies and T’s are natural on top of joggers. Your top has to fit well, and it has to be wrinkle-free. If you’re shirt isn’t clean looking, you’ll throw your whole look off.
Ready for a Jog?
A man can’t get by on jeans alone.
For a well-balanced wardrobe, we like to have something more casual than denim. Joggers are a great choice when you want to stay dressed down but still look stylish.
With this list, you can rest assured knowing that you’re going forth into the world as a put-together man.
