Things to Consider Before Buying Belts from Klik Belts
Leather belts have been getting the job done for decades. But oftentimes they aren’t very form-fitting or adjustable and end up getting worn out or creased after a couple of months. As an accessory, the classic belt could use a few upgrades.
Klik thinks they’ve figured out those upgrades in a tactical nylon alternative complete with a clickable aluminum metal buckle and limitless adjustability. This is for guys seeking a better version of a classic accessory and for those who favor functionality over style. Though, the style ain’t half bad either.

Klik Belts Review
I’ve broken down a few of Klik’s most popular models. While they each feature the same clicking mechanism, some are thicker and better suited for tactical outings while others can be dressed down for casual wear.
Once the belt is on, it’s convenient to unclick and click back on throughout the day. But initially, I felt like a total bozo fumbling to figure out how to get the chunky metal buckle ends through the belt loops on my trousers.
Luckily, I wasn’t the only one. Modern belts are a bit tricky at first, it seems. Watch these quick tutorial videos to get the jist of it.
Here’s another more comical tutorial below. Essentially, you have to free up the adjustable end of the belt to place through the belt loops on your pants. Once the belt is on, you slide the loose end under the small metal bar then loop it back over. Finally, pull it snug and tight.
Now that the loose end is looped through the buckle, you can simply click or unclick the mechanism by pushing the two metal release tabs inward and pulling on the other end of the buckle. To click it back in, just line up both sides of the buckle and push them together till you hear the magic click.
Casual Belt 1.5” Gunmetal 1-Ply
Perhaps the most versatile of the lot, The Casual 1.5” gunmetal belt complements any pair of jeans, chinos, or slacks in your closet. It’s remarkably lightweight, strong, and the subdued gunmetal color can be worn with blues, blacks, browns, and even greens.
The Nylon texture has ridges but feels smooth to the touch. This is also thinner than the other belts. The Casual 1.5” will hug your hips and waist quite comfortably and lay flat against jeans, chinos, or work pants. That said, I wouldn’t pair it with dress pants.
All the belts in Klik’s catalogue, this included, can adjust to any length you need them to be. This is the most functional feature by far.
You might have woken up on Saturday, pounded the pavement on a long run, and started the day feeling lean as ever. But after scarfing down a 12 oz steak, you’ll want a little wiggle room in your belt. These belts allow you to make micro adjustments since they aren’t limited by punch holes.
Like all the belts in Klik’s lineup, The Casual 1.5” showcases subtle carvings in the metal buckle that indicate the patent, the 7075 aluminum alloy COBRA® material, and a few other understated designs.
At first glance, this felt cluttered and unnecessary to have on the front of the belt buckle. But, it’s slowly growing on me, and it plays into the tactical nature of the brand quite well.
The 1-Ply belt from Klik is the lightest weight the brand offers and it's remarkably strong for how thin it is.
Tactical Belt 1.5” Matte Black 2-Ply
The Tactical 1.5” with 2-Ply means this belt is twice as thick as the 1-Ply, and feels firmer than a seatbelt. In your hands, this belt will be stiff and rigid, but those qualities translate into a supportive fit once it’s on your waist.
These 2-Ply belts are massively popular amongst guys with a concealed carry weapon, military or police personnel, gardeners, or any other job or hobby that requires you to carry something hefty on your belt.
Klik Belts recommends downgrading the to 1-Ply if you’re seeking a belt purely for casual, daily use. While I’m not carrying a gun, a massive set of janitorial keys, tools, or other large items on my belt, I still see a benefit in wearing a belt this rigid while hiking, paintballing, mountain biking, fishing, or hunting.
I clipped a small knife and a flashlight onto this belt while out on a long hike and it was convenient having those items within reach.
Another benefit of having a substantial belt is that it holds any pair of pants in place flawlessly. If you’ve owned a pair of pants for a couple years, chances are your waist isn’t the same as when you got them. This belt will help bridge that gap.

Tactical Belt 1.75” Wide Duty Black Multicam 3-Ply
I could attempt to describe to you how truly tough The Tactical 1.75” Wide Duty belt is. Instead, I’ll just tell you that Klik Belts got so many customer requests, including inquiries from the Las Vegas SWAT Team, that it led to the creation of this belt. If this belt is tough enough for SWAT Team use, then it’s tough enough for anything I’d ever put it through.
Remember that the 2-Ply nylon put a seatbelt to shame in terms of thickness and strength. This belt is 3-Ply and can only be compared to something like a safety strap on a roller coaster or a skydiving suit. 1.75” refers to how tall the belt is. The .25” increase isn’t too noticeable but the extra material adds security and strength.
The belt’s color, multicam, was first invented in 2002 for use in the US Army. It’s a dark shading of camo that looks much classier than lighter camos and blends into other dark garments seamlessly. Klik Belts also added customized wide release tabs on this belt for guys who are wearing gloves on the job.
If this belt is tough enough for SWAT Team use, then it’s tough enough for anything I’d ever put it through.
Tactical Belt 1.5” Coyote Brown 2-Ply
The Tactical 1.5” D-Ring belt has the same thickness and height as the 1.5” Matte Black 2-Ply. The main differences are the Coyote Brown coloring, and the addition of a military proven D-ring made out of aluminum COBRA® that is attached to the belt buckle.
The D-ring attachment allows you to get out of the toughest situations and is rated at a load of 4000lbs. For example, if you were hiking and got trapped in the mountains, a rescue helicopter could literally drop a rope that could be attached to the D-ring, and lift you to safety.
For a less intense use, you can use the D-ring to walk your dog hands free, unless, of course, your pup pulls with forces upwards of 4000lbs.

A lot of folks comment on this belt being the strongest in the world and I’d fully agree. Stylistically, I can appreciate the aesthetic with casual wear, but wouldn’t reach for a Klik Belt to wear with a suit or for a dressier outing.

What I Like
The emphasis on functionality and materials make this the strongest belt I’ve ever worn without losing much on the comfort front.
The casual belts are compact and easy to fold up and store during travel.
Both the sound and feeling of clicking and unclicking the aluminum buckle is surprisingly satisfying and efficient compared to ordinary belt buckles.
The price point is terrific given the tactical grade quality of the materials.al
What I Don’t Like
Getting the belts on and off is a bit of a hassle.
The tactical aesthetic might be a turnoff for casual shoppers.
The 2-Ply and 3-Ply belts don’t fold up or store easily.
Who is Klik Belts for?
I’m going to break this into two categories. One casual, and one tactical.
Klik’s line of casual belts are for every guy willing to try an upgraded alternative to the classic leather belt. Klik’s design is lightweight, beautifully constructed, secure, and pleasant to wear. I’d gladly wear this belt with jeans, chinos, and slacks. However, I wouldn’t pair this belt with a suit or dress pants as its tactical aesthetic won’t mesh with formal garments.
Klik’s line of tactical belts promises enough security and performance to be worn by military and police personnel. Yet, even if you aren’t in the police force or serving in a branch of the military, these belts would be ideal for construction workers, delivery or mailmen, industrial workers, gardeners, or even just guys who are partaking in serious outdoor activities.
The Verdict
The problem with raggedy, creased leather belts is that they’ve simply failed to evolve. For rugged conditions, Nylon is a far superior material and provides greater strength, flexibility, and security.
Klik Belts has manufactured an impressive alternative to the classic belt. It’s 7075 aluminum COBRA® buckle, developed in Austria, is of the highest quality. The use of nylon in different thicknesses and heights results in an impressive and expansive line of belts for anything from golfing to military combat.
In terms of the aesthetic, this is for you to decide. I admire the sleek, tactical characteristics of these belts with jeans and chinos. It’s a pleasant change up from traditional belts and acts as a conversation starter.
At under $100 for a casual bet, the price is extremely fair. I’ve purchased plenty of the flimsy $25 leather belts at local department stores and I’ll tell you right now, I don’t still own any of those.
This belt won’t crease or wither over time and might just be the last belt you ever purchase. The price point on the tactical belts comes in a bit higher, but that’s understandable given the added materials and heavy duty nature of their designs.
My biggest quarrel is the inefficient process of putting the belt on and off. For something as straightforward as a belt, I don’t think one should have to watch a tutorial to understand its function. If you can look past that, this is truly the strongest belt in the world and one that will probably outlast every accessory in your closet by a couple decades.
