They’re the unsung hero of the fashion world. Kind of like how pizza delivery guys are the unsung heroes of the entire world.
Think about it: decent jeans, decent tee, decent sneakers—throw on a killer set of shades and you look like a million bucks.
In my never ending quest to find the best ways to gain a style edge over other guys, stand out from the crowd, and bring you along with me, I checked out the sunglasses from one of my favorite watch brands:
I picked up three of their most popular models and I’m sharing what I’ve learned so you can get the right pair.

These sunglasses also all have polarized CR-39 lenses with 100% UVA and UVB protection. Let’s break down those acronyms…
The UVA and UVB protection is pretty standard, and you can find that on most sunglasses—it’s more of a “must have” for sunglasses, and less of a “nice-to-have.”
However, the polarization is awesome and not something every sunglass brand offers on their lenses. I have sensitive eyes, so glare really messes me up. Plus, I wear sunglasses a lot when driving, riding my bike, or when I go out kayaking.
The polarization cuts glare down significantly and makes those activities a lot more comfortable. If you squint a lot, you’ll also love polarized lenses.
And the CR-39 basically is a type of polymer that’s highly scratch resistant so you don’t need to worry so much about damaging the lenses.
Things to Consider Before Buying Vincero Sunglasses
Vincero’s sunglasses tend to run on the larger side. I’ve learned a lot over the years about sunglasses sizes and how to find the right frame shape for your face, and I’ll discuss specifics on how these models fit a little later.
But the reason why sunglasses shopping online is so difficult is because when a set of frames is a little too large or too small, it can feel like a major deal.

I find the first and third numbers to be the most helpful.
I have a smaller head and face, so sunglasses on the medium to small side work best for me.
That’s why the Oliver’s 50mm height and 140mm width work well for my face shape, whereas the 55mm height and 140mm width of the Midway are a bit too large for me.

The Oliver
The Oliver is my favorite of the three pairs of sunglasses I picked up from
I’m a sucker for tortoise shell patterned sunglasses. I just find them much more interesting than any other kind.
The Oliver has some stainless steel accents that are really interesting, including across the bridge of the nose and the arms.
I love that
The frames are a sort of rounded square that works well with my particular face shape, which is a bit more narrow.
Also, the size of the Oliver is perfect (at least for what I particularly enjoy). I’d say my face is a bit smaller than typical for men, so I like sunglasses that fit on the small-to-medium size.
The Oliver is excellent for this kind of fit. Another set of frames I’m wishing I got now are the District, which are also a similar size to the Oliver.
One disappointment I have with these sunglasses is that the product page mentioned they feature five barrel hinges, though mine have the more standard three barrel hinges. It doesn’t make a difference in terms of performance, but five barrel hinges usually have more longevity and durability.
The Oliver is my favorite of the three pairs of sunglasses I picked up from Vincero. I love that the arms are finished with acetate, so they fit comfortably around my ears, even after wearing them for several hours.
The Midway
The Midway is one of
These are on the larger side, with a 55mm height. While I really like the style of the Midway, I found that they didn’t really work for my face shape. They’re not too far off, but when I compare them to the Oliver, I’d much rather rock the Oliver all day.
Probably the coolest thing about the Midway is the marble inlay on the side. It makes me wish these fit my face so much.
If you have a smaller face and like the style of the Midway, I definitely recommend the District. The District is very similar in shape to the Midway (a little more rounded), but is basically a smaller version (49mm tall and a bit wider). The District also has the awesome marble inlay.
The lenses on the Midway have a heavy tint, so they’re perfect for super sunny days or if you have sensitive eyes like me.
Even though these are a bit big for me personally, I still wear them pretty often because of how dark the lenses are. And with that added polarization, they’re my go-to driving sunglasses.

The Murphy
I love the style of the Murphy: they’re horn-rimmed glasses with acetate lining the top and stainless wire along the bottom of the lenses.
But they have a unique
I picked mine up in the Barrel Tortoise (yep, I went three for three on tortoise shell—I can’t help myself).
The Murphy is in between the size of the Oliver and the Midway at 52mm in height, so I find that they fit my face pretty well.
One thing that’s unique to the Murphy is that they feature rubber nose pads unlike the acetate bridges on the other two pairs I tried.
From a comfort perspective, I prefer the acetate bridges, but I can’t say the Murphy’s were ever uncomfortable. They just aren’t as comfortable as the Midway and the Oliver.
I love the style of the Murphy: they’re horn-rimmed glasses with acetate lining the top and stainless wire along the bottom of the lenses. They have a unique Vincero flair to them that I really appreciate. Unlike your standard horn-rimmed sunglasses, these are a bit more “squared off” which works well for guys with angular jaws and more square-shaped faces.

What I Like
- Vincero uses Italian Mazzuchelli acetate, which is a well known premium material for sunglasses.
- The lenses are polarized for glare-protection and also offer 100% UVA and UVB protection.
- Vincero does a great job with product design—these frames are all unique and have subtle style details that make them stand out from a sea of other sunglasses.
- The 5-year warranty and free shipping is awesome.
What I Don’t Like
- The product page for the Oliver states they have 5-barrel hinges, but the hinges for mine are 3-barrel—not a huge difference, but they’re a little less stable and durable.
Who are Vincero Sunglasses for?
Vincero sunglasses are right for you if you’re looking for a unique pair of sunglasses that balances classic looks with something a little edgy and personal, without being off the wall.
The Verdict
My Vincero Oliver sunglasses are my current go-to pair of shades.
I love the shape and I love the Honey Tortoise colorway. And beyond that, I think the shape is unique and stylish without departing from a “classic” look.
The same is true of the Midway and the Murphy frames.
I found the Midway to be a bit large on my face (I have a smaller and more narrow face). And the Murphy looks great, but I like the slightly rounded lenses of the Oliver more for my personal style.
But that’s just the style. Let’s talk quality:
With Italian Mazzuchelli acetate, you’re essentially getting the same material quality you can find in sunglasses that cost double what Vincero’s do. And the polarized lenses offer great protection from the sun.
Overall, I’m a fan of Vincero sunglasses, and I’ll be rocking mine a lot in the coming years.

Are polarized sunglasses really better?
Polarized sunglasses help reduce glare from glass, water, and metal, so if you’re in a highly reflective environment, they can make your eyes a lot more comfortable. On the other hand, they make it much harder to see screens (like your phone). They’re not necessarily better, but they can be extremely helpful in certain situations.
Are CR-39 lenses good?
CR-39 lenses have nearly as much clarity as glass, but offer significantly greater protection. They’re both highly shatter proof and scratch resistant. And you want both of those things with lenses because they’re right next to your eyeballs.
Is acetate better than plastic?
When it comes to sunglasses, acetate feels much better than plastic. It’s smoother, more comfortable, and has a richer feeling and texture. Don’t get plastic sunglasses.
